ONEIDA, TN — The Longbeards of the Big South Fork has announced that its annual SuperFund Banquet will be held Friday, February 17.

The annual event will be held at the Oneida High School Cafeteria, and will begin at 6 p.m.

Fall Hunt For Scott Co. OK'd

NASHVILLE, TN - The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission has given the go-ahead to a TWRA recommendation that Scott County be added to the list of counties with a fall turkey hunt.

The commission, meeting in their annual season-setting session at the Ellington Agricultural Center here, approved a recommendation that will see a 50-hunter quota hunt added in Scott County.

Chapter Sets JAKES Day

ONEIDA, TN - The Longbeards of the Big South Fork's first annual JAKES Day will be held on Saturday, June 4, the chapter announced last week.

The JAKES day will be held at a private residence on Toomey Road and is open to all JAKES members of the Longbeards of the Big South Fork, including members who sign up between now and June 4.

Scott Co. Could Get Fall Turkey Hunt

NASHVILLE, TN - A fall turkey hunt in Scott County is one step away from becoming reality.

Scott is one of eight counties the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) has recommended for a shotgun quota hunt. The recommendations will be considered by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission (TWRC) at its May meeting. The TWRC is the governing body of the TWRA and must approve all recommendations.

Youth-only turkey hunt approaches

NASHVILLE, TN - While adult turkey hunters can't take to the woods in search of a spring bird until April 2, Tennessee's young hunters will have an opportunity to tackle tom turkeys this weekend, March 26-27.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency's youth-only hunt will be open on Saturday and Sunday in each of Tennessee's 95 counties, including Scott County. This year marks the first time ever that the youth hunt has preceded the statewide hunt.
