Quota applications being accepted

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency began accepting applications for the fall 2007 WMA deer and turkey quota hunts.

Hunters wishing to apply for a quota hunt may do so by visiting a license agent or by applying online. The application deadline is July 25 at midnight. Applications cannot be mailed.

Sportsman's license holders were mailed an application form by TWRA. Forms may also be picked up at license agents, or downloaded and printed by clicking here.

There is no application fee for holders of the lifetime sportsman's, annual sportsman's, or senior citizen lifetime licenses. All other hunters will be charged a $20 fee per application, plus a $1 agent fee. Those applying online will be charged a $20.50 fee per drawing and a $2 Internet usage fee.

This year's quota hunts include AEDC, Catoosa, Cheatham, Cheatham Lake, Chuck Swan, Fall Creek Falls, Hiwassee Refuge, Kingston Refuge, Laurel Hill, Oak Ridge, Prentice Cooper, Presidents Island, Volunteer Army Ammunition Plant, Williamsport and Yuchi Refuge at Smith Bend.
