For Tennessee turkey hunters, the time to apply for 2007 spring quota turkey hunts is now.

Click here for a list of the available spring hunts. The deadline to apply is February 14.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is reminding hunters that there will be no mail-in quota applications; to apply for a hunt, hunters must visit a TWRA license agent or apply online.

Through February 14, hunters can visit any regional office of the TWRA or any location where hunting licenses are sold to apply for a quota hunt. Hunters will need their TWRA ID number, as well as application fees, which are required for all hunters except holders of the Annual Sportsman and Lifetime Sportsman licenses, or seniors with a Type 167 permit.

Hunters may apply alone, or as a party. If an applicant wishes to create a party, he or she must indicate such when first applying. The party leader must decide the hunt choices. You can then allow other applicants to join your party by giving them your party number. Parties may not exceed five members.

To apply online, click here. Hunters who apply online will be charged a $2 surcharge that is in addition to the $20 application fee. The surcharge is charged by the company that maintains the online license website.

Remember, the deadline to apply for a spring 2007 quota hunt is February 14.
