2005 Bear Harvest

Tennessee bear hunters had a banner year in 2005, harvesting more than 300 bears in what is the second largest harvest on record.

In all seasons combined, hunters killed a total of 310 bears, up substantially from the 2004 total of 171. That total left 2005 #2 on the list since Tennessee's bear hunting season was instated in 1953. The highest kill total on record was 1997, when 370 bears were killed.
